The golf cart accessories worth buying are the ones that make your cart easier to use every time you head out.
When I talk with cart owners, the same frustration comes up: everyday things don’t have a good place to go. A phone, rangefinder, keys, or drink can end up below the dash, mixed together and bouncing around. Then you’re bending down and digging for what you need.
The best setup gives the things you use every round a steady place within easy reach.
As the founder of CADDYBAR™, I spend a lot of time hearing how people actually use their carts. A sensible place to start is a tray for small items, cup holders that fit your usual drink, and a phone or tablet holder if you use your device for GPS or music. That’s a starting point, not a checklist every cart needs.
Start with what you reach for every round
A tray keeps smaller essentials like keys, sunglasses, a wallet, or a rangefinder up where they’re easy to grab. If you carry golf balls and tees, an organizer gives those smaller items their own spots instead of letting them slide around together. The organizer is designed to be used with the CADDYBAR™ tray; the tray is sold separately.

An oversized cup holder is worth a look if your usual bottle or tumbler doesn’t fit the factory holder well. I recently talked with a Star EV owner whose CarPlay screen sat where one of the cart’s cup holders would normally be, leaving no convenient place for a water cup. Screens and other add-ons can change how useful the original storage is.
If you use your phone or tablet for GPS, music, or a golf app, a device holder can make it easier to see and reach. I’ve heard from customers who use an iPad for GPS; one told me it stayed steady over rough terrain. Check whether the tablet attachment you choose needs a separate mounting piece.

You don’t need to add everything at once. Start with what you regularly carry, use the cart a few times, and notice what still needs a better place.
Add specialty accessories when they suit your routine
A cooler can be useful if you regularly bring several drinks or spend long stretches in the cart. If you do, take a look at the CADDYBAR™ Cooler.
A dedicated propane holder may also make sense if you use a portable heater. When I talk with customers, I hear that the cart’s built-in cup holders don’t always hold heater tanks securely. Some people have been using bungee cords to keep a tank from tipping; a dedicated holder gives it a proper place.
What I hear from customers: if a heater tank is riding in a cup holder, it may need a more secure, purpose-built spot.
CADDYBAR’s holder is designed for a standard 1 lb. / 16 oz. disposable cylinder. Some Mr. Heater models may be too large or heavy for it, so check the product page’s current compatibility notes and follow the heater and cylinder manufacturers’ instructions. Don’t operate a propane appliance while the cart is moving.
Choose an accessory that feels right on your cart
I don’t see much value in buying an accessory that rattles, shakes loose, breaks, or looks out of place on a cart you’ve invested in. Check how it attaches, whether it stays steady on bumpy paths, and whether it looks like it belongs with your setup.
At the same time, you don’t need to fill every open spot. A few well-chosen pieces you actually use are better than a crowded setup you have to work around.
Check fit before you order
Fit check: measure the posts, look at the mounting surface, and check for screens, enclosures, or wiring before choosing a mount.
- Measure the width where it will attach. Measure from the outside edge of one post to the outside edge of the other.
- Check the mounting surface. No-Drill mounts need compatible bare metal struts between 1″ and 1.25″. They won’t fit carts with plastic sleeves around the windshield posts, and some angled or V-shaped struts may not work. A Drill mount requires drilling mounting holes.
- Look at what’s already on the cart. Screens, enclosures, speakers, and wiring can affect where an accessory can go.
- Check what comes in the box. Some device attachments need a separate accessory mount, so make sure you have every piece required for your setup.
If you’re unsure, get the measurements and check with support before ordering. A quick fit check can save you from buying an accessory that doesn’t work with your cart.
For many owners, a good first setup is a tray, cup holders that fit their drinks, and a device holder if they use one. Add an organizer, cooler, or heater holder if your routine calls for it. The point is to give the things you use a steady, convenient place to go.
