The Birth of CADDYBAR™: A Golfer's Tale

The Birth of the CADDYBAR™

It was a cool and crisp April afternoon and the golf season was officially upon us.  We had our typical 8-man roster ready to head out for the first round of the year.  Everyone had been checking the forecast for weeks wondering when mother nature would offer her much anticipated first mild - anything but rainy - Friday of the season.  It's always difficult to schedule 8 with careers and small children but still find that perfect 4-hour window to chase the white ball around.

That Friday was no different.  With the range not yet open, many of us came in hot with declarations of why they needed to be in the first group so that their significant others wouldn't have a reason for another night out.  As we headed out, we forgot that the beverage cart would still be on lock down for a few more weeks and we would be on our own for the first 9 without any adult beverages.

As we finished the 9th hole, I waved ahead to the group that I would grab some drinks and meet them on the 10th box.  I hurried up into the locker room and propositioned a number of tasty refreshments.  After a quick friendly exchange with our attendant, he handed me over a shoe bag with its draw string closed full of ice and goods.  I moved quickly down the stairs while thinking my drink carrier wasn't the most organized solution, but, hey....did that really matter? I placed the bag on the passenger floor (was trying to keep the golf cart compartment behind me dry), and started to roll when I ran across an old friend who just purchased some new merch for the season.

We exchanged pleasantries and I was off to the 10th tee.  I took a quick left turn and the draw string loosened as the bag of drinks spilled out and rolled all over the golf path.  It happened again a few swings later.  I went back home that afternoon knowing there had to be a better way....the rest is history.

Today, the CADDYBAR is not just a creative idea that makes it easier to store drinks and other items for golf cart owners.  It's a multifunctional storage utility bar designed to improve storage capabilities for cart owners and a food and beverage distribution system for golf courses to enhance the golfing experience while increasing revenue, operational efficiencies, and player experience.
